Scenes from my Garden

Here is a beautiful yellow rose next to my fountain. Portland is the city of roses.

What does a Yellow Rose traditionally symbolize?

  • Friendship and Joy: Yellow roses are widely known to symbolize friendship, warmth, delight, and happiness. They are a perfect choice to celebrate friendships, cheer up a loved one, or express gratitude.
  • Positivity and Optimism: The vibrant yellow color also represents optimism, hope, and happiness, and can be given to uplift someone’s mood.
  • New Beginnings: Yellow roses are also associated with fresh starts and new beginnings, and are often given to celebrate graduations, new jobs, or new homes.
  • Gratitude and Appreciation: Yellow roses are a heartfelt way to express appreciation and gratitude for someone’s support, kindness, or actions.
  • Care and Support: Sending yellow roses to someone during a difficult time can convey support and remind them that brighter days lie ahead.

I plant flowers to attract butterflies. Here is a California Tortoiseshell Butterfly that visited my garden.

Beautiful small purple flower clusters. I am not sure what these are. I believe I planted these from seeds.
