Belted Kingfisher — Wings Open

Description

The instant she leaves the branch, wings thrown wide and every primary separated. The white windows across the flight feathers are fully fanned here, both wings legible at once. A kingfisher dives from a standing start, straight down — no run-up, no circling. This is the beginning of that drop.
