Male hummingbirds do not make good fathers. They are always trying to impress the females with their courtship dives and frequently looking for a new mate. The females get left having to make the nest and tend for the young while the males do nothing to help. It must be tough being a female Anna’s Hummingbird. Here is a picture of one that looks a bit warn out. I am sure there are some people out there that can relate.
