A White Breasted Nuthatch is a small bird that is found in many parts of the world, including North America, Europe, and Asia. They are known for their unique ability to climb down trees headfirst, which is a behavior that is not commonly seen in other bird species. Nuthatches have a distinctive appearance, with a compact body, short tail, and strong legs and feet that are adapted for climbing. They are also known for their distinctive calls, which can be heard in many wooded areas. These photos were taken in Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.
