Today I decided to focus on photographing the female mallard. It seems that the male mallards get all the attention of photographers with their beautiful colorful green and blue head and white collar. I think the female mallard is very beautiful with its intricate patterns and ability to blend in with her surroundings. This camouflage is useful when she is tending to her nest. It helps protect her from predators.
I was able to get perfect late afternoon lighting and the ducks where very into the photo shoot.
